Adorable bunnies kicking ass? What more could you want out of life?
Its been a few years since I had first seen this episode and I have not outgrown it. It does manage to feel like a whole feature length, and I mean that in a good way. It opens like a military action/drama, and it closes like one too. While tiny fragments of this episode will feel corny and overdramatic to some, I feel like Cat Shit One is actually kind of fresh, while maintaining a suble degree of the classic Japanese cinema I have become familiar with.
Has Cat Shit One aged well? Ehhm. It may be wise to keep it separated from today's world. It's compelling, candid and tasteful for the time its from. (I was seeing MUCH worse media and satire regarding the war in Iraq during the early 2000s believe me.)
The animation is shockingly acceptable for the age of this episode. The fur is the only thing that stands out as being a little course.
I genuinely enjoy this singular episode and I suppose I am still hoping for a day someone or some studio picks up where this lone installment left off.
