NHK has announced that Midori Sato’s Horror Collector novel series will receive a television anime adaptation. The series is scheduled to air on NHK General in fall 2026.

The original novels are written by Midori Sato with Norio Tsuruta serving as supervisor and illustrations by Yon.

Horror Collector follows modern urban legends born on the internet, including creepypastas, cryptid sightings, paranormal stories, and unexplained disappearances. While many believe these stories are nothing more than rumors or pranks, some discover that the legends are real. Those who encounter the mysterious boy in the red hood may find hope or face a darker truth as he appears wherever strange events occur.

Kadokawa began publishing the novel series in June 2015 and released the 26th volume on June 11. The 27th volume is scheduled to ship on December 10.

A manga adaptation by Niko Yuki ran in Monthly Comic Gene from 2021 to 2022 and was released in a single compiled volume in March 2022.

Yen Press is publishing both the novel series and the manga adaptation in English under its JY for Kids imprint. The sixth novel volume was released on May 20, followed by the manga volume on May 27.

The January 2026 issue of Manga Time Kirara magazine has announced that Kumako Hisama’s Ichijoma Mankitsu Gurashi manga will receive a television anime adaptation set to premiere in April 2026.

The series will be directed by Toshinori Watanabe at studio PRAFumiya Uehara is handling character design, while Yayoi Tateishi will serve as music director. The music will be composed by MONACA.

Ichijoma Mankitsu Gurashi is described as a manga cafe comedy that follows Meiko Morita, a girl who moves from the countryside to Tokyo to attend an elite girls academy. In exchange for free tuition through volunteer work, she begins living and working at Hedgehog, a manga cafe that also serves as a girls dormitory. There she meets a variety of unique residents, including a wealthy heiress who manages the dorm and cafe, a popular streamer, and a professional gamer who competes internationally.

The manga debuted in Manga Time Kirara in December 2018. The fourth collected volume was released on July 26.
