An official website opened on Friday to announce that Kotoko and Kaname Hanamiya’s The Final-Boss Prince is Somehow Obsessed with the Chubby Villainess: Reincarnated Me is getting a television anime adaptation. The site also revealed a promotional video, key visual, main cast, and staff.
The anime will star:
Haruka Shiraishi as Celine
Takeo Otsuka as Wilfred
Naoyuki Kuzuya (Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time) is directing the series at Studio Lings, with Shusaku Kato serving as assistant director. Mitsutaka Hirota (Edens Zero) is in charge of series composition and screenplay. Fumino Kakihata and Yukiko Sekita are designing the characters, and Infinite is producing the project.
The series is published in English through the Manga Mirai digital service, a joint distribution platform by Media Do, NTT Docomo, Akatsuki Group, and MyAnimeList.
Story summary:
After dying from illness, a young woman is reincarnated as Celine, the selfish and overweight villainous duchess from a popular novel. As the heroine’s sister, she is destined to be killed by the hero prince if events unfold as written. Determined to avoid her tragic fate, Celine works hard to change herself. However, instead of hatred, she finds herself the target of intense affection and obsession from the final boss prince. Can she rewrite her destiny and find peaceful happiness in this fantasy romance filled with unexpected devotion?
Kotoko and Hanamiya launched the manga in April 2023. The fifth compiled volume shipped in Japan on Saturday. The series has surpassed 70 million downloads.

An official X account opened on Friday to announce that Eroki and Shinko Konoshiro’s Ushiro no Shomen Kamui-san, also known as Kamui-San Directly Behind You, is getting a television anime adaptation set to premiere in summer 2026.
The anime will be produced under WWWave Corporation’s Deregula label.
The story centers on Shizuka, a high school girl who can see ghosts. She ends up working as an assistant to the well known psychic Kamui, whose approach to exorcism is anything but ordinary.
The manga originally launched in March 2020 on Shogakukan’s Manga ONE app. Shogakukan released the 11th compiled volume on August 8.
